Wave

Wave is an ongoing series of digital composite photographic images. Initially conceived as a as a progression from the ‘Welcome’ volume of work, they have diversified and become waves to  different situations

The first incarnations of ‘Wave’ were at the coast, waving out to see, as if waving to a person moving towards the direction of the shore. Standing upright, on the shore as a beacon, portraying a welcoming gesture.

Wave has had incarnations within the Suffolk landscape, waving across fields, towards distant horizons and boundaries, ‘Wave’ here is about a gesture of welcome to those closer to home.

A subsequent series, ‘Waving at Walls’ is a sign of frustration, drawing attention to the spirit of welcoming not being embodied within sections of our society,

‘Wave’ was featured in the ‘south coast’ volume of work (summer 2026), with various incarnations made along the south coast (Hastings to Beachy Head) and has fruited a progressional work, ‘Arms Open’ a new series of works that first featured on the south coast of England in the summer of 2026.
